The Journey to
Essential Roots Nutrition

I’ve been formulating herbal supplements for 40+ years, now. Long before Essential Roots Nutrition got its name. For years, friends and family encouraged me to market the products. I always declined, because I was concerned that I’d lose control over the quality. I knew it was the quality that drove the effectiveness of the product. I was not willing to sacrifice quality.

The doctor laughed softly and said, “No, there is no cure for this.”

Something about that just didn’t sit right with me.

As a child, I asked myself, “Then why are we here?”

When I was about 8 years old, during a doctor’s visit with my mom (may she rest in peace), the doctor had left the room to get his prescription pad. I’m not dating myself, I am?

While we waited for the doctor to return, I asked my mother if the prescription would heal her. She said, “I don’t know, but I’ll ask the doctor.” I returned to my seat, and we waited. He returned, prescription in hand. My mother asked him if the prescription would heal her. The doctor’s response marked me.

The doctor laughed softly and said, “No, there is no cure for this.” Something about that just didn’t sit right with me. As a child, I asked myself, “Then why are we here?”

I now know that I had a lot to learn. But at that time, all I was willing to know was that the response could not be right. It was not good enough. I wanted a different answer, so I asked a different Person.

On the ride home from the doctor’s office, I asked God to show me what people used to take—or do—to stay healthy, before doctor’s were “invented.” Remember, at that time, I was a kid.

Over the decades, following that visit, I developed a healthy (no pun intended) curiosity for how herbs worked on the body. Early on, I began to study herbs and formulate numerous herbal supplements.

I was just trying a few things out. I used them, my family used them, and our friends used them. We began to see amazing results and I learned a great deal from our collective experiences.

I enjoy formulating, but what I really enjoy is how much better our quality of life has become with these amazing products over the years.

For most of the 40+ years, I would make these products. And because I was so excited about what we were experiencing, I would freely share these herbal supplements. Yes, I gave them away. It was delightful to hear of the benefits others were experiencing.
